About

Enterprise rigor. Small-business speed.

I spent years building and leading software projects inside a Fortune 50 company. Now I bring the same standards directly to small businesses that need real technology work done, not a slide deck about it.

Hi, I'm Carl.

I'm a freelance technology consultant based in Atlanta, helping small businesses solve the tech problems that are too important to ignore and too small to justify an in-house team. Before going independent, I spent over six years as a software developer and, most recently, a lead developer at General Motors — leading development teams, architecting systems that moved data securely between GM and its dealership network, and migrating legacy infrastructure onto Microsoft Azure. I hold a Master's degree in Computer Science from Georgia State University.

That work taught me how to build things that have to actually hold up, under real deadlines, real security requirements, and real budgets. Small businesses usually can't reach that level of technical rigor without hiring a large agency or a full-time engineer. I built this practice to close that gap: one person who can scope the problem correctly and then build the solution — a website, an app, an integration between the tools you already use, or the research and content to market what you've built.

I work with small businesses around Atlanta and remotely across the country, and I scope every engagement clearly up front, so you always know what you're getting and what it costs.

Full-stack, not just advice

I don't only recommend a solution. I build it, from the database to the interface.

Enterprise-grade habits

Security, documentation, and reliability practices carried over from building systems at scale.

Plain-language advice

No jargon for its own sake. If I can't explain it clearly, I haven't thought it through enough.

Honest scoping

I'll tell you when the answer is "you don't need that," even when it means a smaller project.
